After a lot of thought, I decided to cancel my Scribd membership. While it was a great deal when I signed up because I could read whatever I wanted as often as I did (about 5 books a month), once they changed their terms to three books and one audiobook a month, it was no longer a good deal for me since I had to go elsewhere to make up the difference between the amount that I was reading and what I was allowed. It wasn’t convenient anymore so I decided to say goodbye. Hello, library and TBR lists!
Great Gatsby- F. Scott Fitzgerald: You’d think that if my cat’s name was Gatsby (husband named him), I would have read the book by now. This is the summer I’ll read it!
After You– Jojo Moyes: I just finished Me Before You (and saw the movie last night with my husband…we both loved it!) and I’m curious to see Lou’s story continued!
Girl on a Train– Paula Hawkins: I have heard a lot about this book and I’m dying to read it. It’s supposed to be similar to Gillian Flynn’s novels and I’ve enjoyed her work. After seeing the trailer at the movies last night I’m even more eager to read it.
Go Set a Watchman- Harper Lee: To Kill A Mockingbird is one of my absolute favorites and soon after the second book came out we purchased this at Costco. I started it but didn’t end up finishing because other books came up.
Harry Potter Series– JK Rowling: I know, I know, I know. I haven’t read them. Criminal. This is largely due to the fact that I wasn’t allowed to read them growing up. I watched the movies recently and then bought the series at a garage sale and I’m excited to begin!
Other books will undoubtedly come up as I see them, but these should definitely be read. Let the reading begin!
Have you kept or cancelled your Scribd membership? Do you have any other recommendations this summer?!
